Pros

My experience at AMR/GMR has largely been shaped by my team. I've been on the Talent Acquisition Team at AMR/GMR for 3 years, and it has been a great fit for me. My supervisor is passionate about all things TA and Professional Development. She has encouraged me to attend trainings and really hone in on what I want to do (even if ultimately my career goals lead me in a new direction). In my role, I love the flexibility working from home, and I feel trusted and empowered by my supervisor and my closest coworkers. My supervisor and coworkers make it a great place to work. I really enjoy what I do.

Cons

AMR/GMR is a really large company, and with that, we are going through some growing pains as we acquire new businesses and try to streamline our processes across the board. There's some good ideas to create consistency across the company, but that will take time.

Pros

Career growth opportunities, supportive coworkers, opportunities to learn and develop, ability to advance if you stay engaged and work hard

Cons

Healthcare/EMS can be demanding, long hours at times, stressful days, and workload can be heavy depending on staffing and operations. These things aren’t specific to AMR, that’s our industry in general.

Pros

There’s a good workforce here with employees who are well united on issues a strong sense that the company is actually pushing toward a positive future in terms of operations. Ambulance fleet seems to be getting good upgrades and call volume (in most areas) is manageable. There is also a good amount of OT available with bonuses/incentives available. Matching 401k is nice and health benefits are very reasonable.

Cons

For being such a large operation, the pay rate seems to be lacking as of right now. Most employees with adult responsibilities are having to rely heavily on overtime/incentives just to have a semi-comfortable lifestyle outside of work. Uniforms definitely need improvements and training for new EMTs seems a bit lackluster. The morale can be low at times also due to the company being write-up happy (for lack of a better term). Lack of 24 hour units and proper posting locations makes for a somewhat harsh work day as well.
