Pros

Depends on where you work. Some areas are low call volume others are very high. Good equipment and protocals, again depends where you work.

Cons

Where I work staff is young very unproffesional and don't seem to care. Very low pay compared to other EMS operations in local area, including 911 and transport companies. Medics are poor overall with exceptions. Not all crews inspect their trucks prior to going into service and leave dirty trucks and station for oncomming crews. No supervisor. Very poor management, disorganized unproffesional attitude and appearance. Was told starting pay was $19 an hour with time and a half for over 40hrs. Not true pay was prorated to 11.88 hr because I work a 24hr truck. Which means I make the same pay as a 40hr a week medic and I work an average of 56hrs per week. Benifits are the worst that I have seen among EMS companies. No formal continuing education or any ongoing education that I have seen. Overall a lot of smoke and mirrrors from a large corporation. If you are a true proffesional and care about your job and the public image that you present avoid AMR. unless you feel that you might make a difference. Then you will just get laughed at.

Pros

Career growth opportunities, supportive coworkers, opportunities to learn and develop, ability to advance if you stay engaged and work hard

Cons

Healthcare/EMS can be demanding, long hours at times, stressful days, and workload can be heavy depending on staffing and operations. These things aren’t specific to AMR, that’s our industry in general.

Pros

As we continue to strengthen our culture, our Core Behaviors remain the foundation for how we lead, engage, and deliver results across our teams. These behaviors are not just guiding principles—they define the expectations for how we interact with each other, our patients, and our communities every day. At their core, these behaviors drive consistency and alignment across the organization. By prioritizing care, encouraging open communication, seeking to understand, collaborating on solutions, and holding ourselves accountable, we create an environment grounded in trust, respect, and shared responsibility. I am proud to be part of a great organization that exemplifies the core behaviors.

Cons

Success of the Core Behaviors depends on consistent leadership, clear application, and sustained reinforcement over time. This is a challenge that will take time.
