AMR will not pay out your sign on bonus, will make work life balance impossible, and will pay you peanuts without thanks - Paramedic AMR Employee Review

Pros

Love the work itself, responding to 911 calls, helping people, and my colleagues.

Cons

Management is uncaring, often disrespectful, and will push you to work 36 hours+ without sleep because of understaffing. Say goodbye to your family life and health. I've spoken to several people who did not get paid their sign on bonuses or had to fight for partial payment. Don't let the lure you into coming out here, it seems to be a nice bait and switch tactic. This is a high cost of living area and a very underpaid job.

Pros

Career growth opportunities, supportive coworkers, opportunities to learn and develop, ability to advance if you stay engaged and work hard

Cons

Healthcare/EMS can be demanding, long hours at times, stressful days, and workload can be heavy depending on staffing and operations. These things aren’t specific to AMR, that’s our industry in general.

Pros

As we continue to strengthen our culture, our Core Behaviors remain the foundation for how we lead, engage, and deliver results across our teams. These behaviors are not just guiding principles—they define the expectations for how we interact with each other, our patients, and our communities every day. At their core, these behaviors drive consistency and alignment across the organization. By prioritizing care, encouraging open communication, seeking to understand, collaborating on solutions, and holding ourselves accountable, we create an environment grounded in trust, respect, and shared responsibility. I am proud to be part of a great organization that exemplifies the core behaviors.

Cons

Success of the Core Behaviors depends on consistent leadership, clear application, and sustained reinforcement over time. This is a challenge that will take time.
