Pros
Flexible workplace that allows for flexing hours and some telework. Good benefits such as 100% employer-paid health insurance.
Cons
Insufficient workplace policies and practices and failure to consistently follow the policies and practices that do exist leads to highly unequal treatment of employees as far as pay, workload, accountability, professional development opportunities, and opportunities for advancement within the organization. Hiring decisions are often hasty and just plain puzzling, and the org chart is constantly changing. Some managers can be duplicitous. Power and influence is highly concentrated at the top. Staff are encouraged to voice ideas and concerns, but the encouragement is disingenuous. Staff ideas and concerns are never actually acted on.
