Pros

Profit Sharing, benefits, Good if you're a male from the military/West Point . Beautiful new headquarters and training center in New Brighton. Veteran friendly (but they haven't implemented that well) Seems financially stable...but hdqtrs seems revolving door of people

Cons

Less opportunity if you're female and minority. Pay is poor and work life balance in most companies is way out of whack. Expectations are that your phone is on all the time. Work after hours for lots of Supts (and others) isn't paid, just expected. Super reactive companies across the board, not very visionary. Very bad reporting systems, no HR at APi and in most companies so Managers do their own recruiting and whatever other needs they must.

Pros

High Visibility & Influence: You work directly with senior leadership (C-suite, board members, and directors), giving you strong exposure across the organization and opportunities to influence IT and business decisions. Strategic Insight: You gain insight into business strategy, financial discussions, and executive priorities, helping you understand how technology aligns with corporate goals. Career Advancement: This role often acts as a stepping stone to IT Manager, IT Operations Lead, or Technical Support Manager positions because of the combination of technical expertise and executive communication experience.

Cons

You’ll frequently handle urgent, high-visibility incidents where downtime directly affects C-suite operations. Mistakes are magnified since you support senior leadership and board-level meetings. Managing multiple devices, remote sessions, video conference setups, and last-minute changes simultaneously can be mentally taxing. Prioritization becomes difficult when multiple executives demand help at once.

Pros

Steady check The kind of company you can quiet quit for 5 years and collect a check

Cons

Purchases companies and strips their benefits, installs leadership that never worked in the industry they’re now over. Hires managers that aren’t knowledgeable The fly you across the country to talk about a book nobody read Their model is “building great leaders” But they don’t develop, mentor or coach in any way.
