I have been working at APi Group full-time

      Pros

I have been working at APi for around five years now and the growth opportunities are abundant. Their learning and development program is robust and easy to benefit from, they encourage participation in an Individual Development Program, and their purpose of Building Great Leaders is lived out at many levels. Come for the development and growth opportunities and stay for the ESOP. Whether you are just starting...

The construction industry is potentially one of the hardest industries to modernize, but APi Group is doing all of the right things to get there as quickly as possible.

I have been working at APi Group full-time for more than a year

      Pros

Company has great values and their enduring purpose, "Building Great Leaders" really shows with the variety of leadership opportunities / courses. The company always seems to be looking for ways to improve and be the best in the business. My supervisor (and other leaders I work closely with) and very supportive and genuinely want me to grow in my role. Pay is good. ESOP is worth sticking around for. Raises happen [at...

I have been working at APi Group full-time

      Pros

A lot of training and decent benefits

      Cons

Corporate office relentlessly pushes new software/processes/programs to be uniform across all branches... except branches do not all work in the same industry, and the software does not fit well with every industry.

      Advice to Management

      More branch autonomy

I worked at APi Group full-time for more than 2 years

      Pros

      Operating Companies' culture is fantastic

      Cons

Corporate culture is toxic and dysfunctional with poor decisions being made with systems strategy that can and will take a company down. "Building Great Leaders" as your slogan? I would rather work for a company that has great leaders with a strong bench; which is what I decided to do.

I have been working at APi Group full-time for more than 9 years

      Pros

Employee stock program. Employees are nice to work with.

      Cons

They implemented a policy to track your driving from 6am to 6 pm. in your own vehicle. The CTO actually said if you don't like it you won't like whats coming.

      Advice to Management

Stop using scare tactics and overreaching policies. Employees are good people, start treating them that way,

I have been working at APi Group full-time for more than 6 years

      Pros

APi affords the proper training and environment to be influential in your career.

      Cons

APi paints a picture of leadership and development but unless you play with your career like a game of poker you will not advance. The pay is marginal at best, often very lopsided within offices, roles and duties are unfair and pay discussions are always pushed aside but they will continue to ask more. The parent company, APi, paints the picture and promotes such positivity but the subsidiaries play devil's advocate....

      Advice to Management

Go all in with what you promote. It is obvious the Parent/Sub-Company environment is to protect the company but it seems like it has become good cop/bad cop over the years. I know the CEO believes in his vision, I've shaken his hand on multiple occasions as I am a pretty respected employee. I would think that APi could begin influence the subsidiary leaders to purge the company the unfair pay scales and, most importantly,...

I have been working at APi Group full-time

      Pros

Great working environment with others that are on the same or similar level as you. Everyone gets along and is willing to help each other out.

      Cons

The leadership of this company is very bad. Much of the leadership team has not been in a leadership position prior and was only promoted due to their length of service with the company. They say that it is a "family" environment but are more than willing to part with an employee with no regard for their well being. Overall employees don't seem to last longer than around 3 years.

      Advice to Management

Bring in new leadership that has experience running a company and understands what it takes to succeed and grow.
