Pros
Amazing team, incredibly dedicated people, people who deliver real value to the organisation.
Cons
There is a growing perception that the Exec and Senior Management teams lack clear strategic direction and the ability to motivate an already demoralised workforce at Asda House. Uncertainty surrounding Project Future, coupled with an apparent disregard for the potential of data-driven insights and products, has contributed to this sentiment. Despite 2 restructures in the space of six months, and the departure of several highly skilled teams and colleagues, the importance of customer-centricity remains a stated priority, which I agree with. However, the way the Analytics function has been handled under Matt Kelleher’s direction (combined with his 3 days per week in the office mandate) has led to widespread bitter disillusionment and team-wide rock bottom morale. While the organisation rightly emphasises the importance of focusing on its customers, dismantling Asda’s Data Analytics and Data Science capabilities jeopardises the company’s ability to meet its financial challenges and deliver the high-quality service and products customers expect. In an era where data is paramount, restricting these critical functions may impede the company’s long-term success
