Pros

*staff are polite and respectful - but just about everyone works from home full time so not much interaction. * Ability to telecommute * Ability to take courses/classes pertaining to job

Cons

* not much communication - usually decisions are made then communicated so discussion is pointless * process/handbook changes without notice * many hours wasted by ceo with unimportant/silly acts * no response from cfo - your items are not that important * some staff whine over "unfairness" everything has to be equal * some staff targeted by ceo - especially those that voice an opinion * hr manager makes personal comments to staff members * forgot the society is a global member driven society * looking to have staff decision on changes with less input of members

Pros

Great work life balance, good benefits and nice colleagues

Cons

There is a culture problem at ASSP. People work in silos and do not collaborate across teams. As work changes and we evolve, collaboration is necessary for our survival but people - especially some leaders- are only worried about getting credit for ideas and staying in the favor of the CEO. There are bizarre and questionably ethical dynamics between some members of the executive team. The CEO is aware of these dynamics and seems to turn the other cheek. These dynamics create bad optics when it comes to potential favoritism and advancement opportunities.
