Pros

Compensation is good for the area and benefits are one of the best. Sometimes senior management does not understand the ground reality

Cons

Commute and work life balance take s a hit sometimes.. and also its always work and no play atmosphere in the office culture.

Pros

- Some really great colleagues - Great location - Social club really puts in an effort to build a nice culture

Cons

Complete honesty, I was so excited to get a job working at a major agency, but I soon realised the hell it was. To say that working there impacts some people's mental health negatively is an understatement, my colleagues would regularly cry in the corridors or bathrooms due to pressure (management knew and acknowledged it at a company-wide meeting, without doing anything about it). Long working hours, little-to-no appreciation and a culture that makes you feel like you have to watch your own back is just the tip of the iceberg. Management rotates who they like, if you're in-favour you can do no wrong, and if you're not, you can do no right. I can honestly say that working there has scarred me to the stage where my current employer has called out how tense/nervous I seem at work because I don't know when the sky is going to fall down. For your own sake, it's not worth it.

Pros

Central location in Grand Canal. Some good accounts. Cycle to work scheme. 25 days annual leave. Free fruit.

Cons

Workload and stress are abusive for a salary below the industry average. Inexperienced and unprofessional (micro)managers do nothing for their teams in terms of development, transferable training or career progression. A lot of politics, blown out egos and an unseen level of self-promotion. No support from the Management either. Problems you flag, such as workload or lack of knowledge to do your job well, are simply ignored or you're told to get on with it. Collaboration between teams is very poor, especially on the Belfast - Dublin line, with Dublin made to do whatever Belfast decides. Extra time (unpaid) is required due to the high workload and high staff turnover. No HR, no staff appraisals, no benefits offered either. Creatives expected to churn out work like a production line, Client Services quit all the time due to stress and poor conditions. Nearly all seniors / experienced staff has left, particularly those with young families.
