Pros
Aggressively high salaries (in some cases - and you'll realize quickly how little that matters), great benefits (albeit semi-standard in tech), and some fantastic colleagues who really do mean well
Cons
Colleagues can't fix management, and good people don't outweigh bad process. There's a tendency to throw bodies at problems - somewhat standard in hypergrowth companies. And that has its own pains that are tough to navigate. But when you're a company that has historically been so averse to process and documentation, you wind up with 600+ employees, but roughly only ~5 who know how to do the actual work. And that just doesn't work with the pace demanded of you. The mantra is more, more, more. No accounting for how long things actually take. In fact, you'll be challenged on how long they'll take at every turn. But there's very little celebrating of wins. It's just "onto the next thing." Never enough. You'll be told to be comfortable with change and be a team player when in reality, it's just excusing chaos. They don't actually know what they want, and if people get crushed in the scramble of trying to figure it out, so be it. Add to that some troublingly toxic people in leadership, and it's a recipe for disaster. And I do mean toxic. Toxic as in almost an entire department complaining to HR about their manager (separately and without advanced planning or knowledge of each other's complaints), and literally nothing being done about it. Someone who legitimately gaslit and forced out multiple strong employees. Someone who is still there today after moving through multiple departments wreaking havoc. A true golden parachute situation. Actions speak louder than words. And a lot of people here will *say* all the right things and show you the bells and whistles, but it's the wizard of oz. Look behind the curtain. It's not what it seems. There are some great people here (even in leadership), and *so* much potential. But it's just not a good place. Maybe this varies depending on the department. But my hunch from asking around is that it's pretty widespread.
