Pros

I have been in IT for almost 40 years and I have worked for major software companies, including working many years at Oracle. Adaptive Computing is without a doubt, the best company that I have ever worked for. Adaptive is growing under Arthur Allen’s vision and leadership. Even though Adaptive is a relatively small company, 4 more people have been hired that will be starting within the next 2 weeks. Working for Adaptive is both challenging and rewarding because we have many important clients, such as Stanford University, Cisco Systems, NASA, FDA, Honeywell, Johns Hopkins, Lockheed Martin, Dow Chemical Company, IBM, and the list goes on. It is a great environment and great people. If people weren’t getting paid, then nobody would work here. My 5-star rating is not ‘staged’, but is an honest assessment.

Cons

Even though they have a 401K plan, there is no company match. The salary is lower than the average for software companies.

Pros

You'll get a really good look at how to run a company into the ground.

Cons

You will never see a worse case of mismanagement in your entire life. The owner is completely delusional, and the company has no product to sell. They have some legacy products that are being phased out literally everywhere that they are in use. This company is out of money, and has not paid it's employees on time in over four months. If not being paid isn't enough for you, you'll have a couple of people that (I'm not exaggerating in the slightest) walk around with clipboards and yell "get in your (expletive) office and (expletive) sell something!" What's on the clipboard, you ask? Printed out excel spreadsheets, because they (I'm completely serious) don't know how to use excel or their CRM system, and simply print out spreadsheets. Then, they write, in pencil, meaningless numbers on said spreadsheet. Everyone has quit this company. They have approximately 7 people left, and they've got one foot out the door. If this company is still in existence by the end of March of 2019, I will be beyond astonished. I could go on, but I've got other things to do. Avoid this place like your life depends on it.
