Unprofessional management that do not allow growth and undervalue staff - Anonymous employee AlgaeCal Employee Review

Disappointing, negative and unrewarding experience at AlgaeCal. Underpaid, undervalued and not allowed to grow as a working professional or in your career. Management are very inexperienced and unprofessional. The company promotes culture, for which management do not practice themselves. The culture is a fake facade, based on business and self improvement books to factor out anybody that questions any decisions or how the company is ran. The CEO and COO micromanage everyone and enforce a 'we must get a final say on everything' approach. Numerous times both CEO and COO offended me and the rest of the team with their opinions and behaviors. I have witnessed people be offended by the COO, and met people who before my time had been offended by the COO and operation management who work closely. Also unless you work in marketing or have a specialism within marketing, you lack any chance of growing or being promoted, and made to feel invaluable and insignificant. It is very sad but numerous team members feel negative and constantly paranoid due to the way management make them feel. The management in operations especially uses this fear, to make people work harder. They are the most unprofessional and immature of the company, and sadly favor those that will walk over others to get above, which creates a level of toxicity. My time at AlgaeCal was incredibly disappointing. I went in with high hopes, but endured toxicity, paranoia and feeling very undervalued despite what potential I had proved multiple times to management. I would not advise anybody to work for them.
