      Pros

      - company lunch, milestone celebrations (1 year mark, birthdays, etc.) - flexible health spending account / benefits - team members are friendly and willing to help

      Cons

      - low salary - very high turnover of employees - no guidance as to how to fill in roles that people get put into in internal movements, and then when failed to meet that standard, the employee gets micromanaged, moved again into other types of roles and pushed to leave - management focuses on weaknesses rather than developing and utilizing individual strengths - which puts the employee's self worth down and uses that to justify paying low salary - eventually one becomes fearful of making mistakes because of history of being personally attacked by management - the things you do here will mostly be self-learned and when you leave the company feeling like you haven't learned anything useful career-wise

You have shared a number of areas of opportunity for us as a company, and we’re sincerely grateful for that. We are happy to report that some of the opportunities that you outlined have seen action or improvements over the past year. Starting in 2022, we have ushered in a new employee compensation analysis process to ensure that we are benchmarking salaries and perks to stay competitive with our local markets. As of 2021, we have introduced Pulse Surveys and interviews to give us insight into employee satisfaction levels and we are launching our new suite of eNPS questionnaires along with more frequent ‘mini-pulse surveys’ next month. We will continue to work with our Leadership Team to improve everyone’s skillsets across the board so that every employee is having an enjoyable experience with AlgaeCal. Your feedback is invaluable and helps us on our continuous journey of striving for Excellence!

      Great company culture. Caring individuals. Good work life balance. Good opportunities for advancement/learning.

      Cons

      It's hard me to receive a plan for my career as I have a unique role, but that's not really fault of the company per se.

      Pros

      •AlgaeCal is very intentional about creating a great company culture. They look for people who are smart, driven, and good with people. This creates a positive, healthy work environment. •The supplements AlgaeCal sells are backed by science. No other company can say their natural calcium supplements have been shown in clinical studies to actually *increase* bone density. These products really work, and they genuinely transform lives. So when you work at AlgaeCal, you can feel good about what you're selling.

      Cons

      •It would be nice if the company offered a healthcare package to its U.S. employees, but you can still get health insurance through the marketplace, so this isn't a "make or break" thing for most people. The lack of what Americans would consider standard employee benefits is the only reason I didn't rate the "Compensations & Benefits" category a 5/5. In general, AlgaeCal is a great place to work!
