- Stressful work environment, sometimes you see internal political fights, upper-managers push their middle-managers to deliver faster (the planned estimates need to fit within the manager's expectations, not the other way around), and middle-managers push developers to work extra hours/over the weekend. - You can choose to have either good work-life balance or be recognized for promotion opportunities, not both. - The compensation and benefits are subpar by industry standards. - An employee's career growth means squat to the management, there were developers in my team who've been at the company for decades and have never had a serious conversation with their manager about their career goals/progression towards those goals. - You feel disposable, which adds to my first point, stressful work env.
