Pros

Good compensation. Some talented engineers still remain. Product/tech is really interesting to work on.

Cons

An acronym-obsessed executive team are implementing change for it's own sake without having any idea of the meaning of anything that they're doing, in an embarrassingly desperate attempt to shake profitability out of the business. They are narrow-mindedly sales and marketing focused. They don't care about or understand engineers, or respect that we have a technical grasp of what needs to be done to make amazing software real. They are implementing micro-managing tripe that you'd find in call centres where management have zero trust in their workforce. Their meddling is a massive distraction from getting any actual engineering done. They don't care about diversity and inclusion and are fostering a toxic environment. They respond with aggression if anyone brings up any concerns in legitimate forums. They are cancelling flexible working arrangements and working from home with no justification or evidence - ignoring the fact that engineering has been way, way more productive since we all started working from home. I would not try to join this organisation with a view to building a career here as a software engineer. Those of us left are pretty much trying to keep our heads down and hope for the best. Lots have already abandoned ship.

I appreciate you sharing feedback. I’m glad to hear you feel well compensated and that working on our platform and technology is stimulating for engineers. I too am excited about our product roadmap and the critical work you and the engineering team are doing to make our platform indispensable to customers. I know there has been a lot of change recently. The Executive Committee (EC) has been reviewing programs and pilots and updating or phasing out a few that were implemented during the height of the pandemic and are no longer relevant or were determined not to be equitable or inclusive of all employees. I strongly support an open-door policy and believe feedback is fundamental to our success. I want to learn more about your experience. Please reach out to your manager, EC member, HRBP or directly to me. - Carey Pellock, Chief People Officer

Pros

Since joining Anaplan 2024, I’ve had the opportunity to lead multiple CS & GTM teams, launch Portfolio CS across industries, and co-lead AI-enabled value and customer journey transformations designed to drive durable growth and accelerate customer outcomes at scale. What stands out most is the clarity of strategy, the strength of leadership, and the quality of the teams executing it. The focus is simple: a powerful platform, disciplined execution, and measurable customer outcomes. The culture is equally strong. Anaplan’s “I ACT REAL” values; innovation, accountability, collaboration, transparency, resilience, empathy, authenticity, and continuous learning; genuinely shape how teams work: openly, with shared ownership of outcomes, and a constant focus on improving to better serve customers. Excited for what’s ahead as we continue scaling impact across industries.

Cons

As Anaplan grows and expands globally, some processes are still maturing. That can create ambiguity at times, but it also means there’s room for operators to shape how things work.

Pros

One thing I genuinely appreciated was that the C-suite seemed invested in keeping everyone in the loop. The monthly town halls felt like more than just a formality and gave you a real sense of where the company was headed. When you had a good stretch, people noticed. The company feels like it has real momentum and on a macro level.

Cons

Leadership was inconsistent in my experience and seemed to depend heavily on which manager you ended up with. It often felt like luck of the draw. I personally found the planning process to be more reactive than strategic, with urgency only kicking in once results were already suffering rather than getting ahead of it. The workplace culture also had a gossip element that I found draining over time. My biggest frustration was around performance recognition. I observed situations where reported numbers didn't seem to reflect reality, yet the consequences appeared minimal at best. I would have liked to see more transparency and accountability around how top performers were identified and rewarded, because in my experience the current approach didn't always feel equitable to those who were playing by the rules.
