Pros

Customers made the day more bearable, shops themselves are nice inside.

Cons

The shifts go from 7-3pm to 3-11pm so you could be in until 11pm and back in at 7am. If this was the case, you weren’t even allowed have a free coffee in the morning, even though you were only being given 8 hours between shifts which is illegal. Women had to do deliveries alone, lifting extremely heavy goods with no help. More males should have been hired. Management given sales targets and competitions, staff would do 90% of the upselling, yet if the shop won the competition, management would get the prize. Overall just unpleasant. Applegreen make a lot of money, they can spare a few extra bob. During times of bad weather, when staff couldn’t make it in, the manager would leave one person in the shop alone when there needs to be two.

Pros

There are Absolutely no pros to the job

Cons

You will be miss treated by upper management who while is expected to be held by the same standards you are willing never actually uphold those standards for themselves while simultaneously being abused by the employees who are your direct reports because this company gives basic employees several protection against disciplinary actions making it very difficult to correct poor behavior and remove underperforming employees. You will be undercompensated for all of your work and be expected to work yourself to death all to line the pockets of the people above you who have absolutely no idea how to truly run a customer service business where the focus is the customers and the people that brake care of them
