Pros

I enjoyed Aptive when I first started. I enjoyed the provision of vehicles and their payment of gas. They pay for their vehicles' maintenance. They have benefits that are decent.

Cons

They deceive their customers. We are taught to lie to the customers while knowing the truth about the pests. They not only lie to customers, but they lie to the employees and at times, employees can't even tell what is true and what is a lie. They make promises of bonus pay and incentives to motivate the employees to work harder, then later, give a lame excuse and don't even give them what was promised. I worked as a supervisor and got to see how the manipulation happened behind closed doors. I was placed in my position for the dedication I had to learn about pests, their habits, and the knowledge of the tools and pesticides we have. Aptive intends to save the most money even if it means giving a half-job to the customer, and they abusively trick customers into contracts. The employees are taught to trick customers into signing a new contract, saying that the previous one was lost, when in reality, it is a renewal contract. Later, when the customer realizes, they are told that they have to pay a cancellation fee. Aptive always makes sure that Aptive always wins. When I quick, I wasn't paid honestly for my PTO, and as always, a money hungry corporation will do what it takes to win at any cost. Employees are taught to do minimal jobs, not completing the initial contractual promises, and making a speedy lousy job for the customer. Aptive would threaten to chastise me if I would not do the bare minimum and I would of course refuse. Aptive later decided to simply take away all of the chemicals and products and tools I needed to completely a thorough job so that I wouldn't have another choice but to do a lousy job at best. I was a supervisor who would overlook employees and service technicians and the manager of the branch would do the same every once in a while. I would train the employees. I would visit someone who was trained by my manager and realize that they were told to only clean webs where the customer can see them instead of doing it the way it is supposed to be and was promised. ALL WEBS. Now, as the company grows, they hired too many workers, and instead of laying off the extras, they won't give anyone a minimum of 40 hours a week even though they were promised a full-time position. Aptive is horrible for all people. No customer nor employee should be partnered with Aptive. Bad news. I STRONGLY recommend going for a small local pest control company who has something to lose with each customer and employee. THEY will care about you and genuinely will. My own experience.

Pros

Stepped Training & Weekly Classes: Management is great about not overwhelming you. We learn new technology one step at a time, and we have weekly team classes to make sure everyone has the information "down pat" before moving on. Veteran Mentorship: This company truly values experience. They lean on veteran technicians to walk new employees through every step of the process so they aren't left alone on a route until they are 100% comfortable. Customer Loyalty: Our "Reduced Risk" approach (using botanical-based pyrethrins and EPA-approved treatments) is high-quality. I’ve seen that even when customers leave for other options, they almost always come running back once they realize the value of our service. Collaborative Bonus Culture: We have monthly bonuses, and we actually help each other hit them. In our meetings, if one tech finds a better way to hit a goal, they share it so the whole "family" can maximize their earnings. Strong Communication: You are never on an island. There is constant contact and support between co-workers, supervisors, and manageme

Cons

Adapting to Change: The industry moves fast and the technology is always evolving. It takes a professional mindset to stay on top of the weekly classes and new mobile systems. Physical Energy: This is a high-energy field role. It requires daily stamina and a strong work ethic to manage the routes effectively and keep up with the pace.
