Pros

Benefits, 401k match, Vacation time (although we can't afford to take time off, due to the work load and expectations).

Cons

Search "Reynolds American" reviews and sort by most recent. You will get a lengthy description of all the cons...there are too many to list. Beware of the 5 star reviews that are from home office (in Winston-Salem), and/or ones that are 1-2 sentences long. These are most likely "buffer" reviews to average out all the negative ones. In short, the company is very greedy and doesn't care about their employees. Home office is in a bubble. EVERYONE is looking to get out. If you are a potential intern reading this, I strongly encourage you to apply elsewhere- where your time and talent will be recognized and appreciated. We are all warning you!! On another note, the company just announced a 8.5 call/day expectation, that won't be part of our bonus (like it was 1st quarter)...what a joke! They continually ask us to go harder, faster and stronger (or whatever their "motivating" slogan is)...but we're all BEAT to the ground. I can't run fast enough to a therapist. Leadership is shady at best (referring to the execs)...they extend their market visits and stay at the most expensive hotels, ride in luxury cars, fly their families in, have body guards, etc.. Yes, I said body guards.... Like, really??? No one knows who you are; get over yourself! They expect perfection and don't have a clue as to the reality of the retail world. We're losing credibility with our customers on a daily basis, but they don't care. On another note, the territories with flavor bans automatically got the Alto/Velo bonus money for doing nothing, and I worked my tail off, but since I didn't get above 90%, I got ZERO. That's right...I had twice the amount of products to sell in, merchandise, etc.. and got $2k less than my counterpart who wasn't accountable to that 90% mark. Also, living in a high cost of living area, but not getting the pay adjustment that my counterpart gets for living one zip code over...just isn't right. That's an $11k difference. More than money, it's the pompous attitude and posture of entitlement this company boasts, that has everyone walking on eggshells. It's just not right. Once a proud employee, I now have to say I'm quite ashamed to work for them.

Pros

401k, Good deal of vacation time.

Cons

I truly miss working for RJReynolds! Even though its a very large company it still had that small close knit company feel. Now that BAT has taken over it is absolutely MISERABLE working here now. The plant has not shut down on a weekend since they took over and doesn't look like it will anymore as long as BAT is in control. All this company cares about is production and getting tobacco out the door. Employees get promoted to positions they no experience in and have no business at all in working in the positions. The moral is the worst I have ever seen it, you can look at coworkers faces and tell they aren't happy working here anymore. The production employees are miserable due to this plant never shutting down and always running. Work/life balance is very bad. BAT has zero care for American holidays, they wont think twice to "voluntell" employees they need to work on the holiday. Employees are scared to speak up and say anything. Management is all yes people and will not stand up for their employees. I have watched everything get progressively worse and worse as BAT continues running this company. This used to be a company that people enjoyed working until retirement and now its a company that works the employees into the ground.
