Pros
- Honest and transparent leadership - this probably isn't what everyone wants at work but I feel like its better than being kept in the dark. - Everyone is on the shop floor and involved with all aspects of development on a daily basis, nobody is hiding in their ivory tower here. - A relatively young and small studio where pipelines and workflows are still being formed, so plenty of opportunities to have input and shape the way things are done. - Feels a lot more like "the good old days" of game development before there were giant companies came along and made development all bland and formulaic. - Whilst the 4 day work week isn't guaranteed every week, it's really nice when we do get the extra day of the weekend - which overall works out to be the majority of weeks over the course of the year.
Cons
- Cramped office with tiny desks - hopefully soon to be rectified when we move offices later this year. - Derby isn't for everyone - although once you're out of the city the surrounding countryside is as good as anywhere in the country.
