Thank you for sharing your perspective. The pandemic was hard. Our business came to an abrupt halt, and we had no work to offer. In 2020 and 2021 we had only enough work for our highest performing and most experienced Trip Leaders. Communicating efficiently and with empathy to a global staff during difficult times wasn't easy. We hope you made some great friends and memories during your time with Backroads.

Pros

Backroads has an incredibly positive culture where people genuinely care about one another and the work we do. The executive team is approachable, kind, and highly supportive, and it's inspiring to see strong female representation throughout the Exec Team. I feel valued, trusted, and empowered to make an impact, and I TRULY feel that my work matters! The company is committed to creating an inclusive environment where people from all backgrounds can succeed and feel welcome. I really appreciate the flexibility I have with my role and manager, which allows for a healthy work-life balance - something incredibly important with having young kids! Lastly, the travel perks are incredible! I went to Europe last year and don't know that I would have ever had this opportunity outside of working for Backroads. Overall, it's a place where employees are respected, recognized, and given opportunities to grow.

Cons

I honestly don't have much.. I really love working here!

Pros

The product (luxury active vacations) is phenomenal. It's great to be able to have confidence in what we're selling and know we are leading the industry in quality. Coworkers are great - hard working and fun. They also do a good job with benefits, especially trip credits and retirement plans.

Cons

Bay Area cost of living is quite high and while the sales role isn't a tech sales job, increased compensation would go a long way considering working remotely (full time) is essentially not an option.
