Pros

BeneStream is a place where hard work, follow through, and professionalism translate into both career development and making a positive difference in the lives of others. Most of the team is smart, motivated, and excited about what they do. There is frequent promotion from within for employees who have shown their value and interest in advancement.

Cons

Being at a start-up means that you never quite know what tomorrow will bring. I find this exciting, but i know that some of my colleagues wish the future could be precisely defined. Not everyone thrives in an atmosphere that requires self-motivation and initiative as a key to success.

Pros

Excellent opportunity for a Business Major to get his/her hands dirty in a start up environment and really have a hand in multiple business units as a company grows. The work life balance is exceptional, and management has a very hands off approach to letting employees manage their own time and projects. Everything can be an adventure since there are no strict standards set in place or preconceived notions of how things should be done. Employees have a lot of creative liberty and freedom and your success is in your own hands for the most part. The company is constantly evolving and there are new needs that must be met on a regular basis because of those changes. Definitely putting my degree/previous management skills to work in multiple capacities.

Cons

It's a start up, so of course there are no established rules or standard operating procedures. It's a flat org hierarchy which is DEFINITELY not for everyone. There is also quite a bit of role ambiguity since the company is so new. All of the issues I have faced are a result of growing pains which are inevitable to a certain extent as companies grow to scale. The company is by no means perfect but I don't think they pretend that they are.
