Pros

Good product and that's where it all ends

Cons

This has been the most culturally unhealthy and toxic workplace I've experienced. Management’s approach is marked by excessive micromanagement and an overreliance on strategy onsites, as if gathering to make endless presentations and debate ideas will somehow solve the core problems. There’s also an almost obsessive focus on internal AI usage, to the point where they’re even considering using it for performance reviews. It’s odd and frankly unsettling. Attrition is through the roof and people get fired left and right. It’s not uncommon for a new deactivated account to appear every week. Despite one of the values being “debate for excellence,” any form of dissent will probably mean you are out. The hiring managers and recruiters often worry about Glassdoor reviews. And the bad reviews are true - there is no smoke without a fire. Joining this company has been my biggest professional mistake. If your goal is to significantly increase your RHR, this might just be the place for you.

Pros

Supportive leadership team. Great work life balance. Realistic quotas. Low friction between sales and CS. Strong executive team.

Cons

If you don’t have a science background you’ll need to do some more work to ramp quickly like watching more gong calls, meeting with other AEs and your onboarding buddy more often to pick their brain so you can learn the industry better. Selling motion is the same but helpful when you understand how Pharma/Biotech companies operate including hierarchy and job roles.

Pros

GTM at BioRender sits at a pretty unique place in the startup world today: profitability and growth both in the double digits, a very strong executive team (ex-Toast VPs), and an outstanding product with an AI moat that accelerates scientific research. 2026 is an exciting year to be a part of our next phase of growth, with new products in the pipeline and GTM upgrades like a best-in-class solutions consulting team. I've found the GTM org to be very healthy - strong culture, leaders and colleagues who support you, and excellent career growth. Work life balance is valued, and remote work is respected while opportunities are also created to connect in-person as a team.

Cons

I was hesitant to join BioRender after seeing negative Glassdoor reviews, but decided to trust my gut from my positive impression of the GTM team during my interview process. There are a lot of toxic startup cultures out there, and I wanted my next company not to be one of them. I'd encourage any GTM professional with the same concerns to join BioRender; the reviews do not hold up in reality. We definitely have areas we could be doing better - see my advice to management below.
