Pros

Sales commission percentage is good if you can make a sale.

Cons

The product takes time to learn and sell. It is definitely not a product you can sell in 3 months. The average sales cycle is 6 months to 9 months at the quickest. So you need a lot of patience to work the pipeline. Good thing is the company gives you time to work through. But once you have a good year, your sales quota goes up. So it is hard to meet quota year after year. The thing is you need a strong technical pre-sales engineer to help out. Else the deal is not going anywhere. Good thing is the SME folks also help out on deals. The product value is not easy to prove. You pretty much got to go at it on your own by accumulating sales content and developing them over time. Marketing support is alright but there is not enough content for vertical and not enough content to explain the product. Every year there is a new product marketing person and that messes things up. It helps if you have a strong software development background so you can learn faster. This product is not everyone. There are sales people who lasted from days to months.
