Pros

Employee benefits are great & the flexibility for work hours works well for most people. They are the largest Area on Aging in the state and tend to lead the other agencies.

Cons

After initial training you are left to "lead" yourself there is very little direction from upper management. Goals are often unrealistic. Salary doesn't match the job required.

Pros

Excellent work culture. Team members and leadership truly care about serving the community.

Cons

Due to funding related issues, many staff members have been let go (RIF) in an attempt to right size the agency to be able to continue to serve the community going forward.

Pros

Mission of serving Indiana’s most vulnerable aged and disabled older adults.

Cons

Dramatically swift change in leadership which became and remains absolutely incompetent and out of touch. ZERO innovation. The aging industry has been faced with numerous headwinds. The problem is this current CICOA lacks any innovation or industry expertise on how to continue to thrive. Not even sure their purpose anymore. CICOA will be gone soon. Their ship has been sinking but now it’s basically completely underwater. Not sure anyone could come in and fix the damage that’s been done. The last couple of years of leadership have completely destroyed the 40 previous years of gradual advancements. I’m still shocked to see the rapid demise of a once thriving non-profit in such a short amount of time. It has everything to do with leadership. True leaders pivot and maintain success. This leadership doesn’t even understand a basic balance sheet.
