Pros

Hmm. Can't think of any.

Cons

This was my first job in the field of substance abuse counseling. After providing group therapy coverage for several months, I interviewed for, and was offered the position of behavioral health provider. I expressed to my supervisor during the interview that I may not be qualified for the position. This did not concern her. Anyway, I was thrown to the wolves, given no training, given no instruction for how to go about my job. My quality of work was nitpicked and unappreciated by my arrogant, uncaring supervisor. Basically I had to teach myself how to be a drug counselor because the management is so incompetent, self involved and uncaring that they will not even show you how to do your work.. which is incredibly important and affects addicts' lives. I quit this job because it was going nowhere, only getting worse as discharge summaries piled up and my responsibilities grew and my caseload increased. For what? 14 dollars an hour? What a joke. I was so unappreciated by staff and clients alike, when the work was to GET PEOPLE SOBER. On a daily basis I was told to figure it out. Found myself in DANGEROUS and DEADLY situations such as clients threatening me, ONLY to be told by my supervisor, oh we can't discharge him.
