Pros
CAT Squared was acquired by CTB in 2018. After reading Glassdoor reviews from other business units, I wanted to clarify that not all of the reviews for CTB, Inc. are for the same business unit. It appears most of the reviews come from business units involved in manufacturing hardware. CAT Squared is a technology company that develops software. We have a brilliant team of developers and project managers who care about our customers' success as much as our own. Our leadership listens and responds to employee concerns. We have an incredibly generous benefits package. (Among the most generous of CTB's business units.)
Cons
CAT Squared is the only software company within CTB's family of brands. This puts us in a unique position because most of CTB's brands are involved in the food supply chain, and our software is designed to manage food processing plants. The alignment of our combined industry focus strengthens our strategic position in the industry. HOWEVER, because CTB has historically managed hardware manufacturers, many of their policies don't align with industry best practices for software-development companies. As a result, our business unit often finds our hands tied when competing for talent with other tech companies. For example, our corporate leadership has been slow to respond to our need to implement a WFH policy (as is standard for many software tech companies). We've finally gotten approval to implement a pilot WFH program, but only after losing talent to other opportunities.
