Pros

There are a number of great individual contributors in this company who have put their heart into helping this business survive.

Cons

A current CEO that is ghost in the organization. The only visible leadership offered is quarterly townhalls to announce layoffs, salary reductions and reduced benefits. Poor investments in products outside of the core offering (namely Roomit and the revolving door of leadership supporting its failure) Global process that makes sense for a large enterprise but not for a fledging 1200 person organization. Job insecurity with expectation that employees continue to work at a level that exceeds 100% while being paid only portions of the salaries they were offered on job acceptance. A new ownership board post bankruptcy that has failed to invest in the organization to keep CWT competitive with their peers.

Pros

Solid salary and benefits, recognition and opportunity for growth across job function and/or upward. Cross-team interactions and collaborations are open and approachable.

Cons

Senior leadership over the last 10 years has eroded the culture and viability. Current mid-management leaders are relatively new to roles and lack mentoring, training or clarity of direction.

Pros

Working remotely, great working environment.

Cons

Navigating two separate layoffs both before and after an acquisition is challenging for anyone, especially when your future is unclear. Being laid off in 2024 rehired in 2025 and then released again after being assured my role was secure only added to that uncertainty. I fully understood the risks of returning to CWT during such a transitional period, but the experience highlighted how crucial clear communication and consistent leadership are during an acquisition. This was not about the work or the people both of which were positive but rather about how the transition from CWT to Amex GBT was managed. My hope is that sharing this helps future employees understand the environment and encourages stronger communication during periods of change.
