10yChange to meet the needs of customers is inevitable for Canon as it is for any other business and we want to attract, retain and reward people as part of that journey. We accept that efforts to be open about those changes won't always be possible or received by everyone in the same way so it is iterative. Career progression on the other hand is a very personal subject and it's not always linear (e.g. promotion). We have people who have successfully up-skilled or reinvented themselves and created 30+ year careers at Canon by doing so. People demonstrably have both the power and the tools (e.g. Canon's Development Hub) to grow their careers if they wish to but we'll certainly take opportunities like this to look at how we can improve the messages.
