Pros

Castor has an inspiring mission and you know you're contributing to something which has an impact on the world. Derk is an inspirational CEO who employees look upto.

Cons

Castor is experiencing a turbulent period after 3x headcount growth in the last 18 months. Council (the Senior Leadership Team) has changed significantly and a big middle management layer has been introduced which has reduced transparency. The push towards "Remote First" hasn't been backed up with any changes in working practices, other than unlimited holidays. Unfortunately this can mean 50 days per year for some and less than 20 for others, meanwhile 55% of employees are working beyond their contracted hours. The culture is changing rapidly for the worse and it's sad to see.

Pros

Working fully remote has been a huge benefit for both productivity and work-life balance. Everyone I work with is incredibly kind and smart, and always willing to help, which makes a big difference day-to-day. Work is not stagnant. I learn something new everyday and it is rewarding both personally and career-wise. I can see myself growing here long-term. Clinical research is meaningful work, and I believe Castor is moving in the right direction.

Cons

Compensation is slightly below market compared to similar roles in the industry.
