Pros
At Brighton at least the company's HR is airtight. They train everyone as they should. They monitor everyone as they should. They have a 3 strike policy on misconduct and dismissal for gross misconduct is dealt with very carefully. They have zero hour contracts on staff, but they employ it very sensibly in line with business hours ensuring that it is not used as a sanction or for favouritism. Movies are great (and free) promotion with in the company is sometimes hard sometimes difficult. For me it was easy, but I was there through multiple transitions for others since it has been a bit harder. In any case they prepare those that want to go up by letting them shadow people doing the jobs above them. A great place to learn how a business should be operated where excess ego is kept in check and hard work appreciated.
Cons
The pay is only average and can never be amazing due to the thin profit margin. The hours particularly for salaried employees can be anti social. Lots of people find that it is easier to have friends working at the cinema and find other relationships sliding.
