Pros

The only pro: the people who work here. Every single one of them is so talented and disciplined in their own ways. You can get to learn a lot from them.

Cons

The CONS are too many to even be stated. The upper management sets absolutely unrealistic targets to be met. No work-life balance. You do not get any offs in a month if you are not able to meet your targets even for one month. They just want labourers who work 24/7 for them. The salary also being terribly low, it feels like an insult to an individual's abilities. They shame you when you want to take some time out for yourself. They judge you even for taking breaks longer than 30 minutes. Micro-management to it's peak.

Thank you for sharing your feedback and for acknowledging the talented and disciplined colleagues you've worked with at Codingal. We're genuinely sorry to hear about your experience. While startups are undeniably hard and demanding—requiring long hours, rapid learning, and high ownership—the specific concerns you've raised about unrealistic targets, lack of work-life balance, and micromanagement deserve our attention and do not align with the culture we're working to build. We take all reviews seriously, including critical ones, as they help us identify gaps and improve. While we cannot address the specifics of your experience publicly, we would very much appreciate the opportunity to learn more so we can investigate and take corrective action where needed. If you're comfortable, please reach out to us confidentially at feedback@codingal.com. Our goal is to ensure a professional, respectful, and supportive environment for every team member, and your input can help us in that effort. We wish you the very best in your future endeavors. — Codingal HR Team

Hi, and thank you for your review. We're glad you found a good team to work with and appreciated the learning opportunities here. With 20 departments, 100 full-time employees, and 400 teachers, we would love to know which team you were a part of so we can recognize them internally by sending our thanks. Regarding your comment about the "terrible work-life balance", we acknowledge that working at a startup requires a higher level of commitment than working at other types of organizations. As of this writing, our company policy requires us to hire only those candidates who can commit to a 6-day work week. This can be tough on people with families, for instance, which is why we have also increased the WFH allowance from 16 to 24 days per year for all full-time employees from this year onwards. While we don't deny the work commitment required, startups provide greater growth opportunities than traditional big companies, and potentially greater financial rewards in the long term. Plus, for those who patiently endure the hard years in the beginning, the reward awaits in the form of improved work-life balance as the company matures and grows sustainably and predictably. We encourage you to explore other opportunities and teams within Codingal, where the work expectations better suit your individual circumstances. We also welcome any additional feedback you may have about your experience. Please feel free to email us at feedback@codingal.com. Executive Assistant, Founder's Office, Codingal
