Pros

Overall, my experience at (Big)Commerce was positive. The culture was strong when I joined the company in 2022 - very flexible, "unlimited" PTO, promote from within, etc. I believe the product is solid and leadership has made some smart and acquisitions to complement the eCommerce platform. There are some tenured and knowledgeable folks in the sales org.

Cons

There has been a fair amount of turnover recently including layoffs. The company's direction has been somewhat unclear as well. While I feel the product is solid, brand recognition is still lacking compared to competitors. Not a reliable or stable place to be in my opinion.

Pros

-Friendly coworkers -Great partners -Opportunity to try things -Many people genuinely care and are willing to help in when asked -New leadership team has the right idea (though unfortunately came in too late imo) -Great CFO

Cons

-Company trajectory on the decline -Top heavy organization, too many people trying to delegate down to the few people who actually execute -Lack of proper strategy -Most of the mid level managers who were the heartbeat of BigCommerce historically have left and not sure if the company will be able to reinvent itself in time -Conflicting goals of different organization pit teams against each other. Caused too much friction internally. For a company struggling for relevance from external sources, this was a mistake.
