Pros

There are some really good people here, but sadly so many leave.

Cons

Looks like the revolving door of HR is working hard to submit fake positive reviews! This “non profit” needs some severe legal auditing, both financial and otherwise. The CEO is an absolute nightmare. He’s a nasty man, a misogynist who lives to intimidate and threaten: an absolute nightmare unless you’re one of his pets that do his bidding. He’s been seen (and yes, I absolutely did witness it) mimicking people with intellectual disabilities—you know, the people being served by this organization—in the most offensive way possible. How does an organization stay around for 30 years with no fundraising and development department? Where does that money really come from? One 5k annually that barely breaks even? Unlikely. Speaking of revolving doors, the offices all over the country see new Executive Directors and management with appalling frequency because the work environment is so toxic it drives people away. If you’re good at your work but won’t kneel to King Robert, you’re fired without warning nor real explanation. HR sees and participates in all of this and keeps quiet: I honestly don’t know how they sleep at night. Management is shuffled from role to role and state to state to cover up. Direct service staff is barely paid minimum wage and treated like garbage while the CEO and his regional VP pets encourage discord in order to keep staff focused on disliking each other so much they’re not paying too much attention to the shady dealings. The Board of Directors for the organization are either the CEO’s buddies or too unqualified to recognize the chaos the CEO has intentionally created. Do your due diligence before submitting a resume here. Google the lawsuits. Read the REAL reviews. Notice the similar themes through them. You’ve no one to blame for yourself if you do and still work here. Trust someone who knows and wishes they’d never gotten involved.

Pros

Salary was competitive but misrepresented

Cons

misrepresented job duties misrepresented pay structure abysmal training support abysmal professional development job insecurity Hostile corporate work environment management does not know what other roles do forced to work several roles unrelated to position, and expected to succeed without experience, training, or guidance management expects you to "figure things out" rather than be trained (even when asking for training) - because they (i kid you not) see figuring things out as "drive" - when in reality they will not provide what you need to succeed and it repeatedly harms people's morale. You will be potentially be made to wear a suit every day because the CEO in another state "prefers it that way" Never had a present supervisor, didn't receive training; and laid off after they realized they didn't understand the purpose or importance of my role within a disabilities service field. Nightmare, neurotic motherly figures at upper management may actively sabotage your career if responsible for your professional development (which they wont provide)
