Pros

Wonderful experience opportunities. NICU is the sickest of the sickest and smallest babies. Multitrauma ICU- you see crazy trauma injuries most dont see in their lifetimes. Very interesting cases and patients and research/advancements you get to witness. Insurance offers fertility assistance.

Cons

NOT the most funded and up to date equipment. A lot of Jerry-rigging dressings/bandages/washclothes/linen/equipment, etc. Most of the staff is very proud of their job and accomplishments as a hospital and tend to work with their chest puffed out. Can treat you like you're less than them. Didn't have the best management in NICU but MTICU management was very involved and hands on. Forced rotating day/night shift for MTICU despite your previous experience. Treated similar to new grads if you are just new to the hospital system. PAY for parking and walk through fairly unsafe areas of Baltimore to get to work. Assaults have occurred on staff leaving hospital at shift change.
