Pros
My internship gave me valuable hands on experience in live sports production, especially working with UConn Athletics. I developed technical skills using tools like Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects while also gaining experience operating cameras and assisting in the control room during live broadcasts. The fast paced environment helped me improve my communication, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure. I also got to collaborate with a team across multiple sports, which made the experience more dynamic and helped me understand how different roles come together on game day.
Cons
One downside of the internship was that the schedule could be demanding and unpredictable, especially during busy game weeks. Balancing long hours, including nights and weekends, with schoolwork was sometimes challenging. Additionally, because it is a large operation, there were times when tasks felt repetitive or when I had limited creative control over certain projects. While I gained a lot of exposure, there were moments where I would have liked more opportunities to take on higher level responsibilities or lead my own projects.
