Toxic environment. Very high turnover and huge workload (60+ hours per week between February - April). Messy clients who only provide everything you need a small percentage of the time. Micromanagement and pressure to meet KPIs, even though returns cannot get done timely due to clients not providing what we need. Low/below average pay, especially for a location like Manhattan with a sky-high cost of living.
Also, a large majority of the people working here have multiple years of experience, so it creates an even more toxic environment for those who are just trying to keep their head above water while having to work their first-ever tax season. Managers are also rude and do not give a hoot about their employees and their other life obligations - they just care if returns get done, regardless of the conditions on the ground with the clients who have no idea what they are doing.
