Pros

It's a great jumping off point for people who really can't find anything at all to do. It could be a wonderful learning experience as far as this particular industry goes. At the least, you could learn terminology and how processes work.

Cons

You will feel cheated when you get your check. Solid answers are not given once you are past the usual "new job" questions. The hours are not flexible at all. The management presents itself as incompetent. In the TV department, you are told to work fast, and to work hard, but Management has no clue as to what goes on as far as everyday workload, in it's own department. The people doing the actual work driving this company are made to feel like livestock, as opposed to talented workers.

Pros

During my time at the company (which was a little over 3 years), I found it relatively easy to earn a bi-weekly bonus. This job isn't for everybody, clearly - but since I'm not a career-driven person, it was a good fit for me. I came in, did my job, and left, giving no thought to the office until I returned after the weekend, which I think is the best way to approach this company. It's a job, not a career.

Cons

A bit soul-sucking and very boring, tedious, repetitive work. The environment is cubicles with fluorescent lighting, and I found it very difficult to make connections- it doesn't seem like a unified team. Managers usually left me alone to do my work, but I know they didn't actually care about me (they were not aware that it was my last day, although I had related this information a month before and supplied written notice), and I hated the smug ranks of upper-management. It's my understanding that this company has downsized dramatically, cutting more than 3/4ths of their work force, and it was mainly a popularity contest when determining who would stay employed.
