Is this your company?
Pros
- Cotton has competitive pay and offers flexible work schedules whenever engagements allow. - One of the best things at Cotton is that you are in charge of your success. Promotions are performance-based rather than seniority-based. - Cotton does its best to ensure their employees are happy and growing professionally. - Cotton does its best to adhere to its core values and principles, including work-life balance. - Cotton’s commitment to quality and professionalism is evidenced by the fact that it voluntarily undergoes a peer review every year, rather than the minimal every three years. - Cotton continuously strives to give back to not only the community via The Giving Committee which supports volunteer services and charitable giving, but also, Cotton’s Sustainability Initiative which focuses on sustainability and environmentally-friendly activities.
Cons
While the first half of this is a con, Cottons handling of these situations can also be seen as a pro. Your experience at Cotton will be directly linked with both the client and team you are assigned to. While I’ve had many positive experiences with both as discussed above, I’ve also had assignments and teams that made me dread coming into work every single day. Most partners and managers at Cotton are highly competent and lead by example, but unfortunately that is not the case for all. If you find yourself working under a partner or manager that does not understand the company's core value of 'Balance,' it’s important to communicate that to your advisor or anyone you feel comfortable speaking to in a position of influence. If possible, changes will be made in order to retain you.
Pros
Work environment, chill people, can express you don’t like the work and they will try to find something you like
Cons
Pay, health insurance, just got bought out
Pros
-Partner involvement and acknowledgement. -For most of my time at the firm, I had an amazing team. -Business Ops team was always responsive. -New office was spectacular. -IT works so hard even being understaffed. -Work hard you will get noticed. -Overall good communication related to engagements. -Potential to do so many different tasks.
Cons
-Work can be repetitive and get boring -Compensation was not competitive (especially if you started out of college there). -Understaffed and the good employees have to work longer hours to meet unrealistic deadlines. -Compensation is never discussed. -Bonuses are weak and spread evenly throughout the team (even though you might have work significantly more). -As my career at the firm was ending, the staff being hired were getting worse and incapable of doing simple tasks. -Pushing for return to the office (but some partners don't care). -Weak company events/participation. -Technology and software is lagging behind industry average. -Allow bad employees to soak up unassigned time and eat away at everyone's bonuses and pay merit increases.
