Pros

Sometimes the pay is quick. Some of the articles are interesting. Decent pay if you're desperate. Allows you to work from home.

Cons

One word. Editors. Im sure there are a small handful of decent editors, but the majority of them are intent on ripping your work to shreds. I worked for this company for almost a year and until a month ago, I was a level 4 writer. Now Im dropped to level 2 and keep getting fails.... What are these editors on? Most of the time they arbitrarily move words around, introduce errors, and accuse of filler/ fluff....when there us none. And submitting a ticket is pointless - the CMs almost always take the editors side, ignoring all concerns and questions. And they are rude and smug! I stay away from the forums because of their holier-than-thou attitude. They act like precious snowflakes and talk down to the writers. My days there are numbered. Im just gonna look for more freelance sites. They may not pay as well, but my sanity will be saved.

Pros

Working for crowdsource.com allows me to work from home and choose my hours. The assignments are varied and interesting, with sufficient work available to earn quite well. They have always paid promptly, in 1-3 days via Paypal. None of my work has ever been rejected, and ample time was given for revision on those which required it prior to approval.

Cons

Sometimes the available work dwindles for a while - so while I would like for it to be more of a mainstay, I have to be on the lookout for additional work elsewhere in order to stay ahead of the game financially.

Pros

This company has several significant pros for freelance workers. I've worked for several months as a writer and have really enjoyed the unlimited work available, high pay and interesting assignments. There are almost always several thousand assignments available. You can easily exceed $20 an hour if you submit high-quality work very quickly. The assignments are pretty interesting, particularly if you love finance and copywriting.

Cons

Without the editor problem, I would totally give this company five stars. The editors are very inconsistent. Most people stay with the company because of high pay, but the editors are starting to get on my nerves. With the same writing style and same grammar mistakes, one editor will say "great job!" and another will reject my assignment. You may not be paid for a rejection. It's very frustrating. I usually have no real idea of what I did wrong. This is because the feedback is extremely vague. If I do know, I'm not likely to fix the problem if it drops my per-hour pay down to below $10. Low per-project pay encourages fast writing. Fast writing is NOT writing of the highest quality. If I spent two hours on a piece, it would be much better than the 30 minute articles I've pumped out for CS. Bussiness owners, do yourselves a favor and pay more if you need written articles and product descriptions. Give writers enough time to develop quality work and you will not be disappointed.
