Pros

Thorough training course that offered a base pay in addition to commission

Cons

It felt like a pyramid scheme. I applied to the job in the hopes of earning some extra cash during my winter break during college. I recruited a friend of mine, and our overall experience was very off-putting. We had a few days of intense training from 9-5, which was great. We had a few "competitions" that could award us with additional accessories to showcase when presenting our sales pitches to clients. For one specific competition, we had to write the names and numbers of everyone in our contacts. The person who could write the most names would win a cover for the a pair of scissors or something. Then, we had to star the contacts who may be interested in working with the company before having to submit the papers we scripted the contacts on. Inevitably, all the contacts on our listing were contacted and understandably so, not everyone was too keen on that. I decided to leave the company after my winter break. Short lived, yes, but I was young. When I visited the office to drop off my Cutco materials, my boss at the time was incredibly pissy and rude. My friend also quit, citing that her parents did not want her to continue her work with the company, as they had similar reservations. My boss replied to her, "Do you always so what your parents say?" Um, yes if living under their roof while they pay for my college education. Awful experience. 10/10 would not recommend.
