Pros
Flexible work from home policy, however, it does lead to days crammed with meetings when everyone is back in the office. The work is not difficult and most of it is does by the steering committees for each meeting or training course. Interesting topics that are on the forward wave of healthcare, but only in relation to the FDA. Nothing is being invented or revealed at the meetings besides policy updates. Global offices, particularly in Asia, are doing great work with those countries policy makers to help them to modernize. The new website is a dramatic improvement over the old version. Bonuses are great, the healthcare was on par with other non-profits but behind a large for-profit organization. 401K options were severely limited, but there are end-of-year safe harbor contributions.
Cons
Office location is terrible, if you want an exciting, innovative workplace this is the polar opposite. The world is crammed with non-profits that are built on providing seminars and meetings, and DIA is behind some of the truly innovative groups like BIO, ASCO, or HIMSS. It is a niche market and the same cast of people come back constantly to present the same topic at the same conference with small updates. Integration with the global offices is shaky at best. Finally, there was a feeling of the organization moving to close the office in Horsham and relocate to the new global center in DC.
