Pros

Health insurance and other benefits, option to work remotely

Cons

I worked remotely in the marketing department for a little over a year, and in that time was given little to no direction. Communication was horrible, with meetings constantly being canceled at the last minute. The executive team decided (while on their week-long annual meeting trip out of country) that they could no longer afford to pay the salary for my position. They offered a severance package for one additional paycheck ($1,200) but listed that I had voluntarily resigned and required my signature for the severance, although they had eliminated my position in a department restructure. Over a week later, I am still an admin on their social media accounts, even though I have notified them and asked to be removed (twice). In my experience, the lower-level employees are considered less-than, and suffer because of poor management and communication. I do not recommend working at Datix.

Pros

If you're just finishing up college, this is a great company to work for and get your feet wet. And if you don't understand IT, you will after working here only a few weeks! People who work here are highly intelligent, yet remarkably collaborative. Even though each person is designated a "role," everyone is very transparent about their work, which gives newbies (especially marketing peeps) the chance to understand how all the business pieces come together in the end. I came to Datix near the end of college as an intern, and within six months moved to full time. It took a lot of work to get here, but I know ten folds more about the business world than I learned in college.

Cons

Understanding Datix process can be intuitive at times if you're new to IT. Also, the company collaborates on a lot of things, so being open to try new approaches and work with others is mandatory of whichever role you take. Clearly this isn't a real con, but it does take a motivated and curious person to really succeed here.
