Pros

• The team. The people we work with make coming to work tolerable. Everyone on the team is super nice and very helpful • Schedule flexibility. Whether its school schedule or needing to find a way to have furniture delivered at home, my manager helps me make it happen. She understands that we all have a life outside of the office and helps us to have a schedule to fit that • Regular call reviews. My manager and team leaders take the time each month to sit down with me and coach me on how I can improve my performance and stats. I can tell they truly care about me • Snack box, cool espresso machine, and free lunch on Friday • 401k matching and nice PTO package, although it is hard to not feel guilty if you take time off since we are so often short handed. When the new PTO package was announced this year, it was stated that they wanted us to use it and be rested. They dont allow PTO rollover since they want us to be recharged, but it is hard to not feel guilty taking time off when they are constantly asking people to work overtime • The remoting situation seems to be a bit better. It's not all the time, but when you need on a rare occasion it is available. I hope in the winter this still holds true • They are trying to add more fun for us. They are taking us to a Tigers game soon! (although I bet support will be asked to volunteer to come back and work and let everyone else have the night off like they did for the open house). They have promised more fun outings, we shall see • The new structure is a partial pro, partial con. Concentration on our highest paying customers makes sense, but that is about the extent of the pro here

Cons

• We were promised at the beginning of the year that they were bringing in a company to set every individual up with a formal review process and goals. Less than 6 months to the end of the year, and this new review process and goal setting is yet to be seen • We were promised crossing departmental mentoring opportunities, but that has yet to be seen. It would be nice to learn something new, but everyone is too busy it seems. I doubt there would be time we could pull away from the phones long enough to make it meaningful anyway • Sales gets a lot of attention and recognition, and all the new hires. Support and dev are just given a lot of work • You will be asked to volunteer for overtime... a lot. I am all for being a team player and like to help the team, but for a company to offer a nice PTO package telling us to make sure to take time to rest and recharge and then turn around and constantly ask you to work OT is a little contradictory. Not only do you get asked to volunteer for OT a lot, but you will get a call or text on your day off for last minute help. So much for coming in recharged • The new structure. First of all, they let go an integral part of the team as their first order of business in restructuring the department when we really didn't have enough people to begin with. The person they let go also helped us on a daily basis and I could tell he cared about the people on the team and I miss that. Secondly, they took forever to implement it. I think there are still things that aren't completely done yet. They communicated pretty good about all the changes the first few weeks, but that dwindled, and now it feels like not everyone is in the know about changes when I ask questions. They also moved another team leader to another department, which took another resource. The same amount of calls are still coming in, but 2 team leaders are now gone and cannot help us • There is a lot of anxiety about being let go. In the past 8 months or so, I can recall 6 people being let go. It doesn't make me feel very secure. I used to voice my opinions and concerns freely when asked for them, but now I feel like I have to watch what I say so I don't get let go too • At the all-company meetings, the CEO likes to make fun of our customers and the sales manager. It is uncomfortable and makes me wonder what he says behind closed doors if he is willing to say those things in front of the whole company • C-level is out of touch with the reality of what it is like to be in the day to day. They think they can buy our loyalty with OT, when they really just need to hire and replace the people we have lost. They also are self serving, for example an email was sent to the company asking if anyone had children that wanted to intern over the summer. The only intern we have from that is the son of a c-level. It makes me wonder if he is getting paid while the support suffers from lack of people

Thank you for your extensive review. You cover a lot of ground here, but I do want to clarify your first "con". While we elected not to use the external performance review company, we rolled out a well documented internal process months ago. Every employee met with their manager in early June to agree on KPI for the remainder of the year, and mid August is the first of two scheduled checkpoints on 2018 KPI progress. Not sure how you missed that. With the exception of the interdepartmental mentoring program, which has been admittedly difficult to organize, its unclear what unfulfilled promises you're referencing. We continue to grow as a company, so while some people have left, we have more employees than we've ever had, and there are about 10 more positions to be filled this year. The management team is aware that communication is an ongoing process, which is why the entire company meets every 2 weeks, and why any employee is always encouraged to discuss their concerns directly with any member of the management team.

Pros

I worked at DaySmart for almost a year and loved the company while I was there. The people I worked with while I was there were absolute hard working sweethearts, fantastic to work with and very technically competent. I wish them all the absolute best of luck in the future.

Cons

Unfortunately I had to leave for personal reasons, but DaySmart is definitely headed in a positive direction vs some of the older reviews here on glassdoor.

Pros

They send you free DaySmart swag when you join

Cons

Toxic and unrewarding work environment. They could not care less about their employees, and they don’t hesitate to show it.
