Pros

The best part about my job is my team. I feel supported by my colleague and managers. Unfortunately, that is the only part keeping me at this job

Cons

There are many, but one of the more glaring issues at the moment is Diligent's impulsive spending on acquisition after acquisition and not once broaching the topic of raising salaries to reflect the change in cost of living. Employees who have not received a 5% raise in the past year are making less money than when they started. Inflation is not going away any time soon and we cannot continue to live off these pis-poor wages. It's the disconnect to what's going on in the market when we literally sell products to stay on top of market trends for me. I would advise high level executives to utilize they technology they sell and adapt - quickly. Internal restructuring makes career pathing nearly impossible as the goals keep moving or aren't quite ready yet. Review cycles are a joke. The only way to move up is to threaten to leave, which many have done since Jan. 2021.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. We’re glad you feel supported by your team, and we certainly agree that our people are what make Diligent so special. We are sorry to hear your other concerns. We don’t want any of our talented and valued team members to feel like there is more we can be doing to ensure they feel rewarded and have an exciting runway for career growth. At Diligent, we pride ourselves in creating competitive total rewards programs for our employees, and in light of current circumstances we are reviewing and auditing our compensations plans and philosophy to make sure we remain competitive in the markets where we operate. Likewise, providing opportunities to learn and grow is at the heart of our commitment to our people – including not only robust onboarding, training and development, and mentorship, but also the opportunity to be part of a fast-growing company that is increasingly well-positioned to make a positive impact for organizations globally. We hear your feedback and will take this onboard as an opportunity to improve. I hope you will consider speaking with your manager, ELT member, or a member of the HR team – whoever you feel most comfortable talking to – so that we can hear how we can better support your career progression. Thank you again for your feedback and your continued service to Diligent. - Avigail Dadone, Chief People Officer

Pros

The product is market-leading, and the space is genuinely interesting. There's no shortage of smart, capable people at Diligent. A lot of talented managers exist within the org who could do more if given the room.

Cons

Direction changes constantly — sometimes it feels quarter over quarter. The result is widespread burnout and an inability to execute. Senior leaders rarely push back on the CEO, which means teams absorb every strategic shift without warning or context. HR leadership prioritizes serving the executive team over the broader employee population. The HR team is stretched thin and operates more like a compliance function than a culture or development partner. (Turnover within HR leadership has been notable.) Pay is below market. The equity program is opaque, poorly managed, and functions more as a retention mechanism than a genuine benefit (with no clear path to liquidity). There's a meaningful gap between what the company says it stands for—especially around employee experience—and what it actually delivers internally.

Thank you for taking the time to share such thoughtful feedback about your experience. We truly appreciate you recognizing the strengths of our product and the talent across our team, and we’re glad to hear the space feels interesting and compelling. We also recognize that as a company focused on governance, risk and compliance, that it’s critical to hold ourselves to the same high standards internally. Through our monthly pulse surveys, we listen to our team, learn and actively work to strengthen any areas of feedback from alignment to transparency, or accountability across our leadership teams. In fact, one of our OKRs is focused solely on ensuring we have an empowered and accountable team, which we rally around as an organization. We appreciate other sources of feedback like yours, as it is an important part of that effort. Our People team is committed to supporting an elevated employee experience and continuously improving how we listen, respond, and evolve. While we won’t always get everything right on the first try, we are highly focused on continuing to iterate and making meaningful progress to ensure our actions reflect our values. We encourage continued feedback and appreciate you sharing your perspective. If you’d like to provide any additional context, please feel free to reach out at: HRConfidential@diligent.com
