Pros

I've been with Docebo for almost 6 years and honed my sales career here. When I joined as a BDR, we were 150 of us. Now, we are over 900 and had 2 IPOs and a real rocketship story! During my time here, I got promoted to an AE in record time. Since then, I've got promoted from SMB to Mid-Market to Enterprise segments and won 3 Presidents Club in a row whilst having full support from our enablement and management team. Beyond this, I've been able to join exciting events, social groups at work and been a mentor to new BDRs. I also host sales drop-in sessions for Q&A, support etc. Even though I keep getting recruiters in my DMs, I honestly feel like Docebo is the best place to grow and develop for myself! They've also put their money where their mouth is and kept investing in me from extracurricular courses to salary bumps.

Cons

Tech Sales and high-growth SaaS companies are not for everyone. It's really really fun, but also intense and professionally challenging. If you consider a career in SaaS (or tech sales specifically), I think you need to ask yourself: Do I want to put in the extra miles to be successful? Do I want to be in a fast-moving and evolving environment where I can grow? You will build and fly a rocketship simultaneously, but also learn immensely while doing so. If you're a self starter who likes to solve interesting problems for clients, SaaS and Tech Sales is an amazing place to grow.

Pros

Base salary is OK Benefits are good Commission and bonuses can be good

Cons

Changing bonus structure after a quarter starts, there are times when you will lose commission unfairly. You are responsible for everything, be prepared to have to do everything even if it's out of the scope of the CSM role and be accountable for everything. Leadership does not help, only questions you, doesn't provide any guidance only criticizes you and they will criticize you in front of others and often No work/life balance, leadership works all of the time and they will question if something slips because you weren't on top of it. I think the expectation is everyone has to work all of the time. No vacation time, good luck taking time off and actually being able to step away. CSMs have way too many accounts, there is a lot of turnover on this team and it's because of leadership. CSMs are toxic and do not support each other Leadership thinks CSMs should be on calls all day but also be strategic and proactive. If you want to stay ahead be prepared to work evenings and weekends. I don't see how this company will continue to grow in it's current model, it's like working at a high school where popularity is more valuable than performance. No growth opportunities for CSMs.
