Pros
- Amazing individual contributors. Precious few amazing managers. - Great work/life balance. - Generous education/conference budget available without qualification for each employee - Lots of other fun perks, like a lifestyle spending budget, etc.
Cons
- Seriously old technology stack with high technical debt makes agility near impossible. - An inability to make time to address basic difficulties in the product release process makes releasing things a traumatic chore. - The company's focus seems to be entirely on sales, not actual product development or implementations. - Hiring of executives and middle management who are poor cultural fit for the teams they end up managing. Seems like they hired a layer of management without beefing up the underlying teams in a parallel way. - The Toronto office was hired more or less unilaterally by a new executive with the Vancouver team having very little say in that expansion. - Getting anything done takes forever. I honestly don't think they're going to turn this around any time soon. After I initially the company, I left a more positive review, but a recent wave of firings in the company of key people seems to be motivating a greater wave of good people leaving as well. Competitors in the market are gaining traction. Things don't look so good. I can't recommend EP in their current state to a jobseeker so I came back to update my review. Also PS to anyone reading these: HR made it a "goal" this year to "focus on Glassdoor reviews" so.. I'd take it all with a pinch of salt.
