Pros

The company has a good reputation in international development circles and has been winning a lot of large contracts. If you fit in and play the politics well, you'll find a lot of interesting work and the name will help your resume. Benefits are improving as the company grows and my coworkers were incredible people and talented professionals.

Cons

You will only meet two types of EnCompass employees: those that think it's incredible and stay forever and those that can't get away fast enough. They pride themselves on an "appreciative" culture but it's more akin to "toxic positivity." Potential employees were actually advised to accept a significant pay cut during negotiation because the culture is so "incredible." Support staff have to pay rent and employment at EnCompass doesn't qualify for PSLF so, no, culture is not an appropriate trade-off for a livable wage. Maybe the high turnover they have been experiencing will cause them to critically examine what's been happening and inspire them to make changes to match their walk to their talk.

Pros

EnCompass knows what it does well and actually does it well. It supports it employees thoughtfully and is consistent both in the processes it uses and the approaches it applies.

Cons

When you work on a single team, there are infrequent opportunities to explore other opportunities outside the team. A little siloing in that regard.
