Smallish team but good, hard-working people and interesting science. Very competitive pay, solid benefits, unlimited PTO, and a volunteer group that plans fun social events. Seems like people get promoted quickly. Lots of awards for staff who go above and beyond. 24/7 free food and drinks come in clutch if you stay late or come in during off-hours.

Need to hire more people to support existing workload and prepare for growth

The work culture at Encodia is one driven by innovation with input welcome from researchers at all levels of the organization. Favor is received by results and work ethic, with office politics seemingly at a minimum.

There was a concerning development toward the end of my tenure of a budding bureaucratic and corporatist rules sentiment that prioritized a servile, procedure based work culture more fitting of a manufacturing or even military organization that- while potentially useful for large scale product launch- had the potential of both stifling and driving away talent in a highly competitive scientific industry.
