Pros

Cold calling is a good skill to have, and they do train you somewhat.

Cons

Genuinely too many to mention. Bad money, monotonous work (150+ dials per day often with dead leads/numbers not working), cliques all over the company, arrogance from the senior team, bad hours (make you work far more than you're contracted too) employee turnover is crazy, at least half of new employees will leave before first 3 months is completed.

Hi There, Thanks for the review. Whilst overall it's not positive feedback, it's good to hear that you found the training and skill of cold calling useful. Firstly, our contracted hours are 8:30am - 5:30pm, most people have a mature finish and will be out the door just after 5pm to enjoy their evenings. There is never any obligation to work beyond those hours, however as it's a Sales role some people often do off their own volition, as with any business. Our base level starting salary for graduates is £28k, which is the average starting salary for a graduate in London. This doesn't take into account the £10k -£12k you can earn in commission in your first year, and the opportunity for regular pay reviews across the first year. We don't shy away from the fact this is a target driven role, but our probation pass rate for SDRs is at 65-70% right now - above industry standard for entry level Sales roles and we are always working on improving this. Every business has a level of risk in hiring graduates in Sales roles, and we are always trying to improve processes to reduce this risk. We are super proud of some of the young careers we have built at EngageTech, those who have started as graduates or school leavers and become Managers, and Directors here, so it's a shame to hear this was your perspective. Pros

EngageTech's culture is unique and unlike any other. Earning potential is top tier. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is held to a high standard - you will be immersed within a global company. Development Training is challenging, but necessary!

Cons

As per the review headline, be prepared to get exposed to the nitty gritty foundational skills that will be necessary for any successful sales role. It's worth reiterating: working hard at this company is a REQUIREMENT! There's not a single person that cruises their way through the job - sorry. Standards are held high and expectations are assigned; however, you will have the biggest support team to back you every step of the way.

training can be helpful but feel like you could learn more from reading a sales book.

Cons

The culture here is very much of micromanaging each other. There are 1 million different rankings of SDR, and believe that every single one of them above you or on your level will be trying to micromanage you. Promotions are based off of favoritism and how visible you can make yourself on slack and in the office, regardless of if you actually contribute anything meaningful. Managers behave in a very unprofessional way. I am honestly shocked by some of the things I have seen and heard while working here. It does not feel like a serious work environment. And, there is no real HR support. Dishonest practices while cold calling. Encourage lying about who you are and where you are calling from. Not to mention they don’t provide necessary sales tools. Some campaigns are easier than others. They are also having employees write good reviews.
