Cons
ExpressVPN is a sinking ship and everyone in the industry knows it. Any values the company used to have—regarding its customers or its employees—no longer exist. Right now its only purpose is to make the extremely rich owner even richer, although it seems to be failing even at that. What does that mean for you? You'll hear a lot of empty talk about growth paths and career journeys (remnants of the past), but quickly learn that you and your work are meaningless. There are no clear goals, no transparency, definitely no stability. One day you may come in to discover half of your team is gone, another day you might find that your work is now being outsourced. (Why? Don't bother asking, the owner wants it this way and nobody—including your department head—knows the reason.) The company's leadership is completely replaced twice a year, and you keep thinking maybe this time things will get better, but incredibly, they only get worse. Senior managers disappear with no explanation or walk out due to unspecified "moral reasons." Layoffs are frequent, although most people see them as a blessing at this point. Don't work for this company if: - you're looking for a stable, long-term position - you care about professional growth - you want to feel like you're doing something meaningful - you care about your mental health - you don't want to be part of whatever shady thing is going on behind the scenes
